Morning Glory

23 Nov

For Becky (Rachel McAdams, The Notebook), running a TV show in New York City was the big break she dreamed of…until star co-anchors Mike (Harrison Ford, Radiers of the Lost Ark) and Colleen (Diane Keaton, Something’s Gotta Give) declare an all out, on air war. Making the show work with its cast of eccentric characters and outrageous story angles will take a major miracle, but Becky is ready to rise and outshine. Morning Glory is a “tart, terrific comedy” that critics rave is “Smart! Fresh! Brilliant! Heartwarming! Morning Glory has it all!” (DVD)

Well, this was your typical “workaholic girl gets a good job, but it’s harder than she thought. She is too busy for guys, meets hot guy, relationship suffers because of aforementioned job, she somehow makes it all work out, finds happy balance between job and hot guy. The End.” type movie. But for some reason, this one kept my attention. Rachel McAdams was really cute as Becky. She wasn’t that over achieving workaholic, more of a bungling, clumsy, yet cute, workaholic, which was nice. Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford had really good on screen chemistry, which worked out nicely. Ford’s character got really on my nerves after awhile, I mean, I guess he was supposed to, but still I wanted to punch him. Patrick Wilson is good as hot guy. Oh, I mean Adam. His was more of a sub plot, as the movie focused more on the job aspect of Becky’s story. But still, he was hot. So yay. Overall, a cute movie, nothing to freak out over, but a cute movie nonetheless.
