Normally, I am a huge fan of anything Pixar does. And while this movie is cute, it doesn’t live up to standards of other Pixar movies. The animation is still amazing, I would expect nothing less. It’s the story of this one that is the downfall. Throughout, you don’t know if it’s a spy movie, a racing movie, a best friend movie. What it actually is a weird conglomerate of all three of those shoved into an hour and a half movie. Parts of the story have potential. All of the spy stuff was a lot of fun, with the mob families being different types of “Lemon” cars, and the gadgets attached to the cars, but the rest of it is all over the place. Which is a shame, because voice cast and animation are really impressive. But in the end, no matter how cute it was, this sequel failed to do what the Toy Story sequels could; bring back all of the characters we love while still delivering a plot that is a stand alone movie. And while this could pass as a normal animated kids movie, it doesn’t live up to Pixar standards.
