The problem with this movie is that it tries to cram too much into too little time. Also, there is basically two reasons he is up on the ledge. 1. Because of the whole cheating thing and 2. a whole bunch of religious stuff spewed by Patrick Wilson’s character (who plays the husband). In my opinion, there needed to be one reason. Throwing in all of the religious reasons made it a completely different movie, and it could have been a good one if the writer had simply focused on that aspect. Patrick Wilson was the best part of the movie, acting wise. He brought real conviction to the whole evangelical Christian character. Liv Tyler and Charlie Hunnam had good chemistry, but there wasn’t really anything in the script to really make their relationship deeper. And although Terrence Howard was very good as the cop, his side plot was completely unneeded. Basically, this story had potential, but it didn’t quite get there.
