A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger. (IMDb)

This was one of the most visually beautiful movies I have seen in quite some time. I was in awe of the visuals. The story itself is also quite powerful. Looking at faith in God, what is real and what is not, and the strength of the human will and spirit. While at a few points of this dragged and were slow, for the most part I stayed with it. Suraj Sharma was fantastic as Pi. He was dynamic to watch and I loved him. I also enjoyed Irrfan Khan as older Pi. He gave a moving performance even though it was mostly in memory monologue form. Overall, a moving film that is worth a watch.

7.5/10
