Basically, I wanted to watch this movie because of the cast. It’s an impressive ensemble and it seemed like a funny enough movie. Well, not only was this funny, I thought it was freaking hilarious. The script is quickly paced and really funny, which helped with the overall satirical feel of the movie. The wide array of characters are a lot of fun to watch, even the ones that are terrible people. As I mentioned earlier, I watched it for the actors, and they did not disappoint. Jennifer Garner practically stole the show as first lady of the butter carving world Laura Pickler. She was absolutely crazy, and not a good person, but man was she hilarious. Ty Burrell and Hugh Jackman are equally funny as the men in Laura’s life that she basically uses to get to the top. Olivia Wilde is great as Brooke, the stripper who doesn’t have a heart of gold, she’s just really funny. Who really stole the movie though, was Yara Shahidi, who plays Destiny, the little girl who finds out she’s good at carving butter. She was absolutely adorable and had great chemistry with every person she shared the screen with. Basically, this is a comedy that was a lot funnier than initially thought and definitely deserves a watch.
