So this was ok. A sad story about the death of a teenage boy and how it affects the people he left behind. It’s something we’ve seen a thousand times. Well, now its a thousand and one. Don’t get me wrong, this is a well acted, sweet story, but its nothing new. There was the opportunity for something with Carey Mulligan’s character in relation to the family, but there were just a lot of missed moments with the family as a whole. But like I said, the acting is quite good from Mulligan, Susan Sarandon, Johnny Simmons, and even Pierce Brosnan. Actually, this is the best I’ve seen from Brosnan. I just wish the story could have better served this great cast.
