A look at love through the eyes of five interconnected couples experiencing the thrills and surprises of having a baby, and ultimately coming to understand the universal truth that no matter what you plan for, life doesn’t always deliver what’s expected. (IMDb)
So, this is one of those movies that I half watched with some friends, and yet I think I saw to not want to devote my time to sitting and watching the whole thing by myself. This is a great ensemble cast, just wish they were all in a different movie. And while there were some nice moments, they were sparsely thrown in with bad dialogue. What I will give them is that the storylines are all varying and the way the cast interconnected was natural and not forced. It was done a lot better than Valentine’s Day/New Year’s Eve type movies. But I just couldn’t get over how stale the dialogue was. It made these characters boring. Something else that a friend pointed out was that you almost wish one of the storylines didn’t end happily ever after. If the whole point of the movie is that you really can’t expect and plan for anything, why didn’t they make at least one couple not have a fairytale ending? (The Anna Kendrick/Chace Crawford thing doesn’t count, it was in the middle of the movie) Anyway, in the end this movie is watchable, but I’ve seen better.
