I saw this one on a whim last night and I’m really glad I did. I was expecting another generic, yet well done, biopic. Obviously, this exceeded my expectations by tenfold. The three act play setup is wonderful. Instead of another generic biopic, you get a snapshot of a man at three very important stages of his life. Then, centering those stages in the minutes before a product launch is genius. It keeps the stakes high the entire time. Aaron Sorkin definitely hit a home run with this one. You also can’t beat the cast of this movie. Michael Fassbender is more than worth the price of the ticket. But having Kate Winslet, Seth Rogan, and Jeff Daniels around doesn’t hurt either. Fassbender is brilliant. We already knew he would be, but it doesn’t hurt to reiterate it. It was a really honest portrayal, no sugar coating. We saw the great side of Jobs and also the side of him that was, to put it bluntly, an asshole. Then, keep it going with it being beautifully shot, even including the integration of some projections, and you have a movie that will be remembered for quite some time.

8.5/10
